“Artists know what artists and audiences want,” the museum’s director, Melissa Chiu, tells The Artwork Newspaper. “Our assortment is now trendy and modern. Sugimoto is including his layer to the palimpsest, one that may enable us to share our assortment of contemporary and modern artwork.”
The backyard was initially designed by the Modernist architect Gordon Bunshaft in 1974.
